When  I was 17 I somehow talked my mother into helping
me buy a 1963 Ford Galaxie XL with a 428 engine with
'2' '4' barrel carburetors  and a '4' speed transmission.
The transmission shiftor had that little white ball with
the chrome spring release to put the car in reverse.
The 'XL' meant that it had bucket seats and a fancy wrap
around rear seat. The outside was gold with a black interior.
